The Cerritos PTO sponsors fundraisers and events throughout the school year for the students and teachers at Cerritos. We are volunteers who come together to work on programs that benefit the educational experience of our children.

Activities are all volunteer-run and we operate on a budget developed through our fundraising efforts. The Executive Board consists of 11 parent-filled positions and 3 positions filled by Cerritos staff. There are over 30 committees that work throughout the school year.  Learn more About Us >

Here are some of the items your fund raising dollars support:

Teacher grants: $7,200. Each full time teacher will receive $100 in the fall and $100 in the spring to purchase additional education-related items for their classrooms. Part-time teachers will receive $50.00 in the fall and $50.00 in the spring.

Classroom subscriptions: $3,000. The PTO pays for subscriptions to various educational magazines & on-line publications for each grade level.

Staff Special Request: $5,000. More than half of this money is divided equally between grade levels to enhance specific areas of learning. For example, science experts or geologists may be brought in to teach our students hands-on experiments. The rest of the money is made available to teachers to purchase items they need to enhance student learning.

Agendas: $3,000. The PTO purchases all of the agendas for 3rd, 4th, & 5th grade students. The agendas help students keep track of their homework assignments and obligations.

"Specials": $1,500. This year the PTO will make up for depleted funds in Physical Education, Music & Art by giving each "special" a $500.00 grant. This money will be used to purchase materials our teachers do not receive from the school district.

Teacher Development: $2,500. This money will be used to pay for certifications & educational classes for teachers.
